First of all, it means that you will continue to use the same
high quality fiber-optic phone lines as your current carrier is using; and your service will be just
as good or better for far less the cost.
Frequently asked question are detailed below:
Q. IF I SWITCH, WHO WILL BE MY NEW LONG DISTANCE CARRIER?
A. Your new discounted long distance carrier will depend on whether you are a residential or business customer.
For residential customers, your new long distance carrier will be UniDial, for business customers, it will be WorldxChange
Q. BUT I HAVEN'T HEARD OF THESE COMPANIES BEFORE. WHO ARE THEY?
A. You probably have not; primarily because they operate at the reseller level. They don't spend great deals of
money advertising. But they exist, and now you can enjoy the discounted rates they offer. You will receive a welcome
package explaining their service and contact information.
Q. WILL I STILL RECEIVE MY LONG DISTANCE BILL IN THE SAME BILLING AS MY LOCAL PHONE BILL, AS I DO NOW?
A. NO. There is a price for everything. Your current phone charges include fees to have your local and long distance bills combined.
To keep administration cost to a minimum, you will receive a separate bill from your new long distance carrier.
Q. WILL IT COST ME ANYTHING TO SWITCH?
A. Your local phone company MAY charge you a one-time fee to switch. Generally, this fee is $5.00. However, you will no doubt recover
this minimal charge in your first month billing with your new long distance carrier.
Q. HOW MUCH CAN I EXPECT TO SAVE?
A. You can expect to save from 30% to 60% of your current month bill. For example, if your long distance phone
bill averaged $50.00 a month, you can NOW expect it to be between $20.00 and $35.00.
Q. HOW LONG DOES IT TAKE TO SWITCH TO THE NEW CARRIER?
A. Once your application has been submitted for processing, it will take from 7 to 10 business days for the switch to
occur.
Q. YOU MEAN I HAVE TO COMPLETE AN APPLICATION. WHAT FOR?
A. YES, there is a one page customer service agreement that must be completed and mailed to your SKYCOM agent. You only need to complete your
name, address, current phone number/s, social security number, and signature. This information is supplied to your
new carrier. This agreement form basicaly gives SKYCOM the authorization to act in your behalf to process the switch.
